Activision Remains Hopeful For Tony Hawk: Shred Sales

Activision's Eric Hirshberg claims company remains hopeful for Tony Hawk: Shred sales. 

Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision Publishing in an interview with Gamasutra stated his company is still hopeful for Tony Hawk: Shred sales. The game launched on October 26, 2010 in North America and sold 3,000 units in that month in the United States according to NPD Group. The game launched in Europe on October 29th, however, sales figures for Europe were not released.

Hirshberg states the target audience for Shred is different from that of past Tony Hawk titles.

"There's hopefully a method to that madness," he says. "For the first time we're targeting that game to kids. It's a gift-oriented game, but, that said, we need to build awareness for the game still. ... I think you'll hopefully see a bigger ramp-up as we get further into the gift giving season."

Developed by Robomodo Tony Hawk: Shred is available for the Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, and PlayStation 3 in North America and Europe.
