Mario Sports Mix to Arrive in Europe Early Next Year

The new Mario-themed party game will be out in January in Europe and February in the UK.

Nintendo has begun to announce release dates for Mario Sports Mix outside of Japan. It will be available January 28, 2011 in Europe excluding the UK which gets the game on February 4, 2011. The dates for North America and Australia are still not specific, but the game will arrive in these areas sometime in 2011.

It was recently announced that the new Mario game will feature certain characters from the Final Fantasy series, and potentially Dragon Quest. This detail has been confirmed, as the latest image of the character roster reveals that the classic Slime monster is one of the playable characters.

Players will be able to compete against one another in games of volleyball, basketball, hockey, and dodgeball in Mario Sports Mix, which will release exclusively for the Wii. The game is currently available for the Wii in Japan.
