Mass Effect 3 Release Rumors Confirmed

VGAs confirm late 2011 release for Mass Effect 3.

A recent and brief leak on the official Electronic Arts website revealed details about the highly anticipated Mass Effect 3. The short plot summary was confirmed by the trailer shown on Saturday's Spike Video Game Awards:

"Earth is burning. Striking from beyond known space, a race of terrifying machines have begun their destruction of the human race. As Commander Shepard, an Alliance Marine, your only hope for saving mankind is to rally the civilizations of the galaxy and launch one final mission to take back the Earth."

It was also confirmed that the third installment of the Mass Effect series will be released for the 2011 holiday season. Further details were not released.

Mass Effect 3 will be released for the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360.
