The Nintendo 3DS has reportedly sold 400,000 units in its first day out in Japan.
Nintendo's new handheld, the 3DS, was released in Japan on February 26 to eager fans. The Japanese news outlet Nikkei [via Andriasang] is saying that Nintendo shipped 400,000 units of the 3DS and nearly every one of those have sold.
This puts a big dent in Nintendo's goal of selling 1.5 million units in Japan by March 31. Andriasang reports that more pre-orders are being taken for future shipments.
The 3DS will be released on March 25 in Europe, March 27 in North America, and March 31 in Australia.
