Mortal Kombat Goes Gold

9th iteration of Mortal Kombat series goes gold.

Mortal Kombat has gone gold according to publisher Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment.

The 9th entry in the main series, Mortal Kombat is developed by Chicago based NetherRealm Studios (previously Midway Studios Chicago). The title is Warner Brothers first publishing entry into the Mortal Kombat franchise after acquiring franchise rights from now defunct publisher Midway Games.

Developer NetherRealm has stated the game will see the series return to its roots.

Mortal Kombat will release on April 19th in North America and April 21st, 2011 in Europe for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
