Backbreaker: Vengeance Announced for XBLA

Newest title in the Backbreaker franchise to release on XBLA, a series first.

505 Games has announced the next iteration in the Backbreaker franchise, "Backbreaker: Vengeance". The release states the title will combine elements of both the retail and portable versions of Backbreaker.

"Backbreaker has caught the imagination of the world with its fresh approach to the sports genre. Backbreaker Vengeance for Xbox LIVE Arcade focuses on the aspects of American Football our fans love: incredible euphoria animations, gut-busting collisions, deceptive juke maneuvers and a pick-up-and-play feel," said Torsten Reil, CEO of NaturalMotion. "This brutal spiritual successor to the beloved Tackle Alley will show gamers across the world that when it comes to delivering no-frills football action, Backbreaker Vengeance is where it's at."

The title will also make sure of NaturalMotion's inhouse Euphoria technology. The publisher also revealed that since release the franchise has garned over "6 million fans across the world".

Backbreaker: Vengeance will release this summer exclusively on the Xbox 360 via Xbox Live Arcade.
