Street Fighter Takes to the Streets on the iPhone, Tekken May Follow
Capcom and Namco look to fight for the attention of mobile gamers on the iPhone.
Capcom and Apple have combined to bring the iPhone one of the most popular fighting franchises in gaming history with Street Fighter IV for the iPhone.
For $9.99 at the App Store, you gain access to eight Street Fighter characters (Ryu, Ken, Guile, Blanka, Chun-Li, Dhalsim, M. Bison, and Abel).
The game, which currently has a 4/5 star rating with 740 reviews on the App Store, takes advantage of local Bluetooth to give players the option to play multiplayer games along with the standard single player experience.
Just before the release of Street Fighter IV on the iPhone, Pocket Gamer cited an anonymous source from Namco that confirmed an iPhone version of another big name fighting franchise, Tekken, is in the works and is "looking good." With all the recent competition, the iPhone may finally be maturing into a legitimate home for mobile fighting games.
