Nolan Bushnell, Tom Virden, Join Atari Board of Directors
Atari founder, Tom Virden, join Atari's Board of Directors.
Nolan Bushnell, the original co-founder of Atari has joined the company's Board of Directors along with online entrepreneur Tom Virden. While their exact roles are currently unknown, Atari claims the appointing of the two comes at a time when Atari is focusing on its "iconic brand" as well as " further expanding its business online".
On the announcement Nolan Bushnell had the following to say,
"I am very excited to be reacquainted with Atari at a time when it is poised to make interesting strides in key growth areas of the games industry," said Nolan Bushnell. "The company and its iconic brands have always been important to me, and I look forward to further guiding them at the board level."
Mr. Virden's past roles include Head of European Websites at Netscape, founder Boatbookings.com, and International Director of lastminute.com. Virden had the following to say,
"I look forward to providing strategic insight and guidance to the executive team as it further expands its business online and builds value around its world-renowned brand and properties."
Atari also announced David Gardner and Phil Harrison have resigned from the Board of Directors, the reasons for their departure are currently unknown.
