Craig Doesn't Want GoldenEye Wii To Be "Rubbish"
Daniel Craig has come on board to ensure the remake of GoldenEye is as good as its fans hope.
With the news of GoldenEye's remake sending fans of the original into a nervous frenzy, the first piece of truly exciting news has emerged. Daniel Craig, himself a fan of the N64 masterpiece, has come on board to make sure it lives up to those mighty expectations.
In an interview with Official Nintendo Magazine, David G Wilson, the Vice President of Global Business Strategy, Bond Marketing Inc, has spoken about the actor's involvement with the upcoming game.
"When we first pitched the game to him, he was really excited about it. He thought the original game was great. Daniel plays a lot of games and he has a lot to say about them. He gives us a lot of good criticism. We'll show him what the plan is and he'll suggest changes and get very hands-on... He makes a lot of comments about what we should and shouldn't do with this game. He plays all the Bond games so he doesn't want them to be rubbish. He's a real taskmaster!"
Craig's own Bond is an entirely different beast from Pierce Brosnan's one. For starters, Craig is much more hands-on than his predecessor, preferring to use his fists in place of guns. Brosnan's Bond was a hero for the dying days of the 'one man army' action movie, Craig's is for the Bourne generation. Naturally, Activision are planning to utilize Craig's style to the fullest.
"What I like about the Daniel Craig Bond is that he is very physical," says Wilson. "That means that we're dealing with a lot more hand-to-hand combat and non-lethal takedowns. You walk into a situation as Bond and you can either shoot things or deal with them in a much more intelligent, skillful way."
GoldenEye 007 releases November 2nd, 2010 in North America for the Nintendo Wii and DS.
