Guide: Using the Random Battleground system in World of Warcraft
A Random Battleground Finder has recently been introduced by Blizzard which works in a similar way to the Random Dungeon Finder, but is currently only available to level 80 characters.
Using the Random Battleground Finder is similar to the Random Dungeon Finder, except the player needs not to accept any roles. A player cannot queue for a random dungeon and a random battleground at the same time.
Rewards for using the Random Battleground Finder
If a player queues for a random battleground and their faction win, they will be granted additional honor points equivalent to 30 honorable kills, as well as 25 arena points. After the first random battleground, further wins using the finder will grant additional honor equivalent to 15 honorable kills. If a player's faction loses the random battleground, they will still gain extra honor.
Call to Arms
The Call to Arms daily quests were removed sometime ago, however battlegrounds in their holiday season will be listed as Call to Arms in the Battleground tab of a player's PvP page. Similarly to the daily quests, a battleground in its holiday season grants significantly more honor to players, whether they win or lose. The rewards are the same as using the Random Battleground Finder. However, if the Battleground chosen is in its holiday season, a player will not receive double rewards for completing it.
The Random Battleground Finder is a great tool to be introduced, as level 80 players struggled to find groups to complete the Classic battlegrounds such as Warsong Gulch, Arathi Basin and Alterac Valley because of the new battlegrounds introduced with Wrath of the Lich King. It is most likely that the tool will be extended to lower level players at some point in the near future.
