Activision Announces James Bond 007: Blood Stone

Bizarre Creations to develop the newest Bond title.

Activision confirms the existence of a new Bond adventure entitled James Bond: Blood Stone developed by Bizarre Creations.

Blood Stone puts players once again in the tuxedo of James Bond. It will play as a third-person shooter mixed with car chase sequences. Blood Stone also offers a cover based system and hand-to-hand combat.

The story will place players "into an explosive third-person action adventure where they will unravel an international conspiracy across exotic locals and experience full-throttle, behind-the-wheel action on land and sea." Blood Stone will not be based on any previous Bond story. It will be an original story written by Bruce Feirstein who has worked on such Bond films as Goldeneye, Tomorrow Never Dies, and The World is Not Enough. Feirstein has also been apart of some past Bond games like Everything or Nothing and From Russia With Love.

Like the Goldeneye 007 remake coming out later this year, Daniel Craig will lend his voice and likeness to the game. You can expect the same from others like Judi Dench as M, singer Joss Stone as the "Bond girl", and an original song by Stone and Dave Stewart from the band Eurythmics.

Players can expect to travel to Athens, Istanbul, Monaco, and Bangkok as Bond.

The multiplayer will allow 16 players to take part in "objective based" modes. The press release gave little details regarding the multiplayer. The mode that was detailed is "mercenaries" which forces a team of "spies" versus a team of "mercenaries" against each other.

No release window has been announced. Look for James Bond: Blood Stone on Xbox 360, Playstation 3, PC, and Nintendo DS.
