Call of Duty Franchise Map Pack Sales Exceed 20 Million

Total map pack sales for franchise exceed 20 million.

Activision has announced total downloads for Call of Duty map packs across the entire franchise exceed 20 million units as of June 30, 2010.

"The Call of Duty franchise is unique in the world of entertainment and delivers one of the best multiplayer experiences ever," said Robert Kotick, CEO of Activision Blizzard. "We are thrilled to deliver to fans exciting and engaging content that has the intensity they have come to expect from the franchise."

The most recent Call of Duty map pack for Modern Warfare 2 dubbed the Resurgence Pack released on June 3rd for the Xbox 360 and July 6th and 7th for the PlayStation 3 and PC respectively.

The next itteration of Call of Duty entitled "Black Ops" will release on November 9th, 2010. Microsoft and Activision have recently announced a one month exclusivity deal with Call of Duty map packs going forward.
