Atlus Announces New Adult-Oriented Title

Creators of the Persona series announce an original IP.

The Persona team recently revealed details about its current project, which is surprisingly not Persona 5, but a new title Catherine. Atlus described Catherine as a "horror action-adventure," but what will catch your attention is its adult-themed elements. The game's composer, Shoji Meguro, described the music as "erotic," among other things.

Catherine is about Vincent, a man in his thirties, who meets a younger woman by the name of Catherine, who seems to be a fan of pizza and tank tops.  Vincent begins to have recurring nightmares, which is likely where the "horror" element of the game will come in, but at this point that's all we know. Interestingly, the tormented protagonist made an appearance in Persona 3 Portable as an NPC.

Persona 3 producer, Katsura Hashino, and series character designer Shigenori Soejima, are among those working on the new title. Catherine is expected to be released this winter for the PS3 and Xbox 360.
