Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Sets a Date

Konami announced at Gamescom 2010 that the next in a long series of Castlevania games will be available to fans of killing Dracula on October 5 of this year. The game was announced at last year's E3, although Konami was dropping hints a year before that.

Mercury Steam is in charge of the games development, helped out by Kojima Productions, the creators of the Metal Gear series. Lords of Shadow will be set in the year 1047 and will involve searching for pieces of an artifact and killing various monsters as Gabriel Belmont.

The game's combat will remind players of the God of War series, and will feature 3D graphics. It will be released for both the PS3 and Xbox 360.
