Microsoft Raises Xbox Live Subscription Fees
Starting in November Xbox Live subscription fees will increase.
Starting on November 1, Microsoft is going to be raising the subscription fees for a gold membership on Xbox Live.
Microsoft made the announcement earlier today on Major Nelson's blog. The fee increases will only affect those in Canada, Mexico, United Kingdom, and the United States. Below is the fee increases for each country.
Canada
1 month gold = $9.99 CAD (originally $8.99)
Mexico
1 month gold = 599 Pesos (originally 499 Pesos)
United Kingdom
1 month gold = 5.99 GBP (originally 5.99 GBP)
United States
1 month gold = $9.99 (originally $7.99)
3 month gold = $24.99 (originally $19.99)
12 month gold = $59.99 (originally $49.99)
"Since launching Xbox LIVE in 2002 we have continually added more content and entertainment experiences for our members, while keeping the price the same. We’re confident that when the new pricing takes effect, an Xbox LIVE Gold membership will continue to offer the best value in the industry" said Major Nelson via his blog.
So, if you are looking to avoid the price change (for the time being), renewing your gold subscription right now would not be a bad choice.
