Is Resident Evil 6 Coming Soon?

Keiji Inafune reckons that Capcom is nearly ready to announce the sixth official title in the Resident Evil saga.

Keiji Inafune, Mega Man creator and talent behind the hugely anticipated Dead Rising 2, revealed in an interview with Spanish site 3DJuegos that Capcom is gearing up to reveal the next Resident Evil game.

In the interview (translated here), Inafune said:

"Given the great success that supposed for us Resident Evil 5, we want that Resident Evil 6 leaves as rapidly as possible to the market. In fact, you will shortly have the news of Capcom about this..."

The current gap between new Resident Evil titles is the longest since the delay between the original game and Resident Evil 2. That delay only happened because Shinji Mikami famously binned the game that was supposed to be the sequel.
