Sony Announces Killzone 3 Release Date

Killzone 3 will be available for the PS3 on February 22.

Sony announced on its official Playstation.Blog that the newest of Guerilla Games' Killzone series will be available for purchase in North America on February 22, 2011. PAX attendees were able to try out the game's multiplayer over the weekend.

Killzone 3's February target was revealed at E3, where Sony demonstrated the game's destructible environments and jetpack action, which earned them a few awards including Best PS3 Game. They also showed off their multiplayer and new vehicles at Gamescom.

The latest in the Killzone franchise will be available exclusively for the PS3, and will include an optional 3D feature. A European release date has yet to be announced.
