Ace Attorney Investigations 2 Announced

Sequel to prosecution series spin-off to be unveiled at the TGS.

Capcom have today announced that the sequel to Ace Attorney Investigations is in the making.

Investigations is a spin-off to the popular Ace Attorney series. While the main titles saw players stepping into the shoes of defence attorneys Phoenix Wright (and later Apollo Justice) and attempting to prove that their client was not responsible for murder, Investigations did the exact opposite, letting fearsome prosecutor Miles Edgeworth lose on a crime scene and attempting to deduce who was responsible.

So far all that is known about the game is that Miles Edgeworth will be returning as the sleuthing protagonist and he will once again be joined by his assistant Kay Faraday (the 'Great Thief' apprentice from the first title) along with series stalwart Dick Gumshoe. The Logic feature (matching two unrelated trains of thought to open up a new line of investigation) will return. Capcom are also promising gameplay features alonside the old ones.

Early screenshots feature an investigation at Gourd Lake, the location where Edgeworth was framed for murder in the first Ace Attorney. Another screen suggests a reappearance of the assassin from the climatic case in Ace Attorney: Justice For All.

Capcom have added Ace Attorney Investigations 2 to their list of  games on display at next week's Tokyo Game Show.
