Players who got stuck in Metroid: Other M can get a fix from Nintendo.

Nintendo is offering an explanation and a solution for the game-breaking bug in Metroid: Other M. On their website's support page, Nintendo apologizes for the inconvenience and tells players how to avoid the bug and how they can salvage their games if they became stuck.

The bug, which causes players to become stuck behind a locked door, was discovered shortly after the game was released on August 31. We at That Gaming Site found a video supposedly showing the cause of the bug, but Nintendo came up with something different. According to the company, the door will permanently lock if you kill the enemies with the spiked purple legs and then go back to the room where you found the Ice Beam. To avoid this, go through the door that is unlocked after defeating the purple-legged baddies before backtracking.

If you have already become trapped by the bug and don't feel like starting the entire game over, Nintendo is offering a fix by mail. Players can either send them their save files on an SD card, or explore other options by calling 1-800-255-3700.
