Call of Duty: Black Ops to Support 3D
The new Call of Duty will have 3D available for all three platforms.
Activision just announced that they have decided to add 3D support to Call of Duty: Black Ops. All the player needs is a 3D-enabled HDTV or a PC with 3D Vision and a pair of active shutter 3D glasses.
The company believes that the depth of field provided by the 3D experience will create an "unprecedented level of immersion." Mark Lamia of Treyarch explains the decision:
"Development of stereoscopic 3D began as an R&D project, but once we saw what the technology brought to the Call of Duty experience, what a great fit and how immersive it was, we knew that we had to develop it for Black Ops."
Those who can't afford or just don't want the 3D experience, the game display can be easily switched to 2D.
Black Ops, and its 3D option, will be available on November 9 for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
