Black Ops Facial Animations Too Realistic, says Treyarch

Treyarch decided to tone down some of the violent animations in Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Call of Duty: Black Ops director Dave Anthony told OPM that their new facial animation system is so good that it made some of the more violent scenes too intense.

"There were situations going too far," said Anthony. "It was a contextual kill where you were twisting the neck. It was too much. The throat cutting [is] nasty, but that was worse."

Despite this, Anthony seems to be proud of their facial animation, and that the system they used has been totally revamped. "Some of the stuff we've done with Gary Oldman's character is amazing."

Black Ops is coming out for the Nintendo Wii, PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 on November 9.
